I'm not sure how I didn't realize it until that day, but Dad was flying in to LAX on the same day as Emily!!! How is that for a tender mercy? Crazy! He was meeting Rose and Merrill and Mike there, and Jim and Maria came to pick them up. I wish we had more time to plan for it, but it all worked out. There was a bit of a hassle with them getting a rental car, but they were able to take Emily to lunch so I was glad about that.
