I can't believe that Jonathan is done with elementary school. Our baby will be going to middle school in the fall! Jonathan had a great year and his teachers always had great things to say about him.
Middle school, here we come!
Daniel finally decided that he wanted a big birthday party at a fun place with all of his friends. He chose our local indoor trampoline park. He invited nine friends and they had a wonderful time! They were able to play for an hour and a half, and then we went to the party room for pizza and cookie cake. Afterwards, we drove most of the kids home (two kids were picked up by their moms).
Daniel had his Evening of Excellence tonight. It was nice to have Nathaniel here to go with us. We had no idea it would take so long. It was an hour and a half--even longer than Emily's senior awards night. We are so proud of Daniel for making the Principal's List!
Great job, son!
We are so proud of Emily and all of her accomplishments! She was offered a full tuition scholarship to the University of Arizona (which they left off the list on stage), Arizona State University, and Northern Arizona University. More importantly, she was offered a full tuition scholarship to Brigham Young University, where she has chosen to attend. She is ranked number six in her class out of 480 so she is in the top 2%.
We are amazed by you, Emily, and can't wait to see all you accomplish in your future!
We were so happy to see Daniel's band concert in person! We got there early and found great seats, but I could only see the top of Daniel's head. Here are his songs:
"Eternal Peaks"
"Ghost Riders"
"Celebration in Song"
"Fires of Bandai", 7th and 8th graders combined
This is Daniel's last band concert. He has chosen not to take band next year in high school, but we are so proud of how far he has come in his trombone playing.
Great job, Daniel!
I had a wonderful Mother's Day today! Nathaniel FaceTimed with me this morning. He is in Provo and doing well. He will be coming down here soon for a visit. We went to church and Emily wore her pretty prom dress. Michael and the kids all made a really nice meal of steak, potatoes, and green beans. Then I opened all of my presents and cards. I got two dresses, handwritten cards, and chocolate covered strawberries. We had our Family Home Evening lesson and then we played Taboo and Jackbox. It was a perfect day!
Emily had so much fun going to prom with her friends! We started the day by going to get our nails done. Emily and her two best friends all invited their moms to join them. It was really fun and a nice little early Mother's Day gift, as well! The girls spent the afternoon going to lunch and hanging out and getting ready for the dance. Then, they came over to our house for pictures. More friends joined them and we took pictures in the wash. I think they turned out great! They had so much fun at the dance. Emily looked like a princess! I can't believe she will be graduating in a few weeks!
