3rd (and final for this school year) Week of May Madness

We made it through all of the concerts, recitals, school open house, and awards programs!  Whew!

First up was Andrew's band concert on Tuesday night.

The day before he casually said, "Oh, yeah, by the way Mom, I'm doing a song with some of my friends from band."  He was nervous but he did an amazing job!

There was a Celebration of Learning open house at the boys' school on Thursday night.  The kids all got to show off their projects they've been working on.

Jonny's Japan project

Daniel's Invention project

Andrew's Wax Museum project--Wilbur Wright

Here he is giving his speech.  All the kids are giving their speeches at various times, so it is hard to hear but he did a great job.

He did this project board all by himself!  All I did was buy him the letters and help him find a few pictures on the internet.

Great job, boys!

Michael accepted an award on Friday at the Sun Corridor EDGE (Economic Development for the Global Economy) event. The award was given to Wisdom Natural Brands for Overall Achievement as a Proficient Exporter.

Here he is with the Mayors of the cities of Phoenix and Eloy, Town of Oro Valley, and former Gilbert Mayor John Lewis (who is now President and CEO of the East Valley Partnership).

He also did a wonderful job on the panel, answering questions about how Wisdom Natural Brands got started with exporting and giving advice to companies who wish to do the same.

Emily's middle school awards ceremony was on Friday night.  She received a certificate for having a 4.0 for the first three semesters of middle school (and will probably have a fourth semester of all As)

Every time I said, "Let me get a picture of you," she was immediately surrounded by her sweet friends.

Finally got one of just her

Saturday night was Mormon Prom.  They all had a good time!  Nathaniel's date Veronica is so sweet.  He has such a great group of friends!

Nathaniel, Veronica, Makenzy, and Cole

Here they are at dinner before the dance

After Prom they came over to our house to play games for a while.  I think they all had a great time!

More May Madness

High School Awards night
Great job on getting over a 4.0, Nathaniel!!!

Here he is with two of his sweet friends.  The girl on the left will be Nathaniel's date for MoPro.

Emily's last middle school band concert!  First chair, front row, baby!

This song is super long, but it's her favorite.  It's called "Among the Clouds."

Andrew is playing baseball this spring.  He loves it!

Finally finished with her project!

Here are the boys with their spoils of victory, lol!  Michael took all the kids shopping for groceries and to get my Mother's Day gifts.  They sweet-talked him into a lot of goodies--36 count Hershey bars (!?!), Gatorade, cheeseballs, etc.!  Look how happy they are!  They all helped him make a delicious steak and shrimp dinner for me for Mother's Day.  We also played a fun game of Monopoly--Andrew won!

Finally done with all dance recitals and competitions for this school year!  Next year she will just dance at school.  I love watching her dance!!!

Here is another version of Play that Sax where I got a better view.

Ballet routine
Emily is in the back on the right in this one.  She said she was absent they day the did formations so she got stuck in the back.  Tragic, I know!

May Madness

I named the blog "May Madness" because we are the Mays and life is crazy sometimes.  However, the month of May is especially crazy around here.  A few of these are from April, but now that May has started we are deep into the concert/recital/award ceremony season.  It's crazy, but we love it!

Nathaniel invited his date to MoPro (short for Mormon Prom) and she accepted!  He set out a bunch of Solo cups on her doorstep along with this poster.

Here is her response:

Here is Jonny being silly.  I heard some noises coming from the playroom and found this:

Nathaniel and Emily both took the ACT a few weeks ago.  Here they are studying together.  Can't you tell how excited she is?

Carol was accepting an award for the ASU Top 100 Alumni, and Michael and I attended the ceremony.  I thought the kids would get a kick out of me posing with the ASU Sun Devil!

Jonathan's 2nd grade program

Emily had so much fun on her Disneyland trip!  The 8th graders from band, dance, color guard, drama, and orchestra all went on the trip and took special classes at Disneyland.  Emily participated in the classes for band and dance, but, of course, had plenty of time for rides, too!

More dancing--Middle School dance recital

Her last dance competition!  Woo hoo!

Wish me luck for the rest of the month!
