Emily's Trip to San Antonio, Texas

Emily and her friends wanted to take a trip after graduation.  They would have liked to go to Six Flags in California, but California is so closed up because of Covid that they couldn't go.  I suggested that they could go to San Antonio, which has Six Flags, also.  After a lot of discussion, that's what they decided to do.  Since they are all 18 and younger, they needed an adult to go with them to rent a car and get a hotel.  Actually, we ended up getting an AirBNB.  I volunteered to go and all of the other moms seemed grateful.  We had a wonderful time!  I was basically the chauffer, but the girls definitely made me feel included.

We flew in on Wednesday, and the first place we went was to the Alamo.  We couldn't take pictures inside, so here are some we took on the surrounding grounds.

Next, we walked near the Riverwalk

On Thursday, we went to Six Flags.  These are the only pictures we took because it rained so much that all of the rides started closing and we left.

Drenched!

Dinner at Genghis Grill

It was Sabrine's birthday, so we bought her a cake and it was so good!

On Friday, we went to the Natural Bridge Caverns.  The girls did the ropes course first and had fun.  Unfortunately, the next cavern tour wasn't for later in the afternoon so we left and headed to the Riverwalk.

On the drive, we were commenting that it wasn't raining and we wished we had gone to Six Flags today instead.  I said something along the lines of, "Well, what's stopping us from going today?"  The park admission for Six Flags was the same amount we almost paid for the cavern tour.  So, the girls decided that was a great idea and that's what we did!

Six Flags Boardwalk

On Saturday morning, we packed up and checked out.  Here are some pictures of our cute AirBNB.

Finally, we went to the Riverwalk.  Our flight wasn't until 6:30pm, so we had plenty of time.  First, we went to one of the touristy places that had a mirror maze (which was harder than we thought it would be), laser maze, and escape room.  That was a lot of fun!  We did some shopping at the souvenir shops and then we bought tickets for the river cruise.  We had lunch at IHOP.  This picture was taken right near there, at the end of the road that had all of the tourist attractions and souvenir shops.

The river cruise was great!

When we got off the boat, we stopped at the mall for some ice cream at Ghirardelli and Marble Slab Creamery.

It was a fantastic trip and the girls were great and they had so much fun!!
