It's crazy that Daniel's swim team days are coming to an end! He had two swim meets this week.

There was a photographer at the Perry meet, so I asked him how I could buy the pictures and he gave me his website information. I love this action shot of Daniel!
October 23, Road to States Invite at home
It turns out I got another chance to do a hospitality shift at this invite. I'm so glad I could help!

So glad that Dad could join us for Daniel's last swim meet!
It was so cool that Emily was able to cover General Conference for the BYU Universe. She was able to sit in the press box and everything!
Between sessions that day, Michael, Daniel, Jonny, and I all went to Safeway to get our flu shots and then to Barro's for lunch. Daniel loves getting the calzone! We let Daniel choose the restaurant because we wanted to celebrate him earning a 35 on his ACT, as well as doing so well on the 500 Freestyle, which is a brand new event for him!
Michael had the idea yesterday to go
to the Pima Air Museum with the boys, since it's fall break. Daniel wanted to go but Jonny didn't.
They left this morning a little after 10 AM. Michael said they had a great time
and he sent me some pictures, which I was grateful for. They came home at about 5:30 PM. I'm so glad they were able to have that time together and they both loved it!
Daniel had senior night tonight after the home meet against Mesquite. I had volunteered to help. There were some picture cut
outs to put in the cupcakes and my job was to cut them out of the laminating
paper so that was pretty tedious but I got it done. I taped sticks to them so
they would stick into the cupcakes. I took Jonny with me and got there a little
after 3 PM to help set up. We put up some decorations and things. Jonny helped blow
up the innertubes and floaties for senior night. I told them I would be a timer
but it turns out they didn't need me. Daniel's first two races were the first two events, 200 medley relay and
200 freestyle. Daniel was the only one signed up from Higley to do the 500
and no one from Mesquite was signed up so they just canceled that race. He
seemed relieved.

I thought the senior night stuff was supposed to happen on the
break but they ended up just doing the whole meet and then doing the senior
recognition when it was done which I think worked out great. They lined us up
with Daniel and when it was our turn we came outside and walked down the blue
carpet and coach read some information that Daniel had written down about his
school activities and future plans and things. He said his embarrassing moment
was at Canes, which will have to ask him about later, and his most memorable
achievement was swimming the 500 freestyle this year. His quote for the younger
swimmers was something about a fart bomb which we will have to get a better
explanation for later. Then we had some pictures taken.
Then they had the kids get dressed up in their rubber ducky inner tubes and floaties. They did some races in the pool. Then they did some diving. It was pretty cute. Daniel won a couple of the contests. He was partnered up with Mia.
Daniel's dives
Daniel and some of the other senior boys pushed Coach Jen Accra into the pool. I guess that's tradition. The dive coach also got thrown in by her divers and Coach Clara jumped in. Coach even made Amy Waychoff jump in. It was time for cupcakes and then we cleaned up and left.
It was about 6:30 PM by the time I got to my car. Daniel wanted to meet his friends to play football so he went straight there and I ordered Panda and Michael picked it up for us. Daniel was gone all night and didn't get home until almost midnight. Thankfully, it's fall break!
