Emily's Birthday

 Jonny has his permit and we've already started teaching him how to drive. He is off to a great start!

Valentine's Day

I have been wanting to try this beautiful restaurant, Cielo, for a while now. It's not close, but Michael said it sounded good so we went for Valentine's Day. I really wanted to sit outside to enjoy the views, but they didn't offer outside seating that night. I was pretty disappointed, but it's just as well because it was pretty cold. They had the door open and I was cold so it would have been much worse outside. Anyway, because it had just rained and apparently because there was a wedding, they gave us a table right by the window so that was nice. The only problem was it was like when you're dining in New York City and they try to pack so many people in so you're about two feet from the table next to you. The view was absolutely gorgeous. The food was really good. We got brussels sprouts as an appetizer which isn't my favorite and Michael didn't even seem to like it that much because it was pretty crunchy. I got the seabass and mashed potatoes and carrots and it was delicious. Michael got jumbo shrimp and grits and he liked it. Their bread was really good, too. It was a nice experience and it was worth the drive. I loved just driving through Fountain Hills because the houses up next to the mountain were absolutely gorgeous. It was really fun. They tried to talk us into dessert but none of them sounded good to me and I decided we should try an ice cream place that's been on my list of dessert places to try called Scoop and Joy. Michael was game and it wasn't too far out of the way so we went. It was just OK. I liked my salted caramel truffle but otherwise the ice cream is better at Handel’s. We came home and relaxed for a bit and then we watched three episodes of Cobra Kai with Daniel. They were really good! We only have one left so we'll have to watch that another day. Overall, it was a wonderful day with my sweetheart!

Mom's Trip to Utah

I had an Allegiant credit to use up, so it was the perfect excuse to go to Utah. I always see somebody I know when I fly up to Provo and this time it was the Biddulph family. The flight was uneventful and we landed at about 9:35 PM. Nathaniel picked me up and brought Charlie along. He slept the whole time and I got to hear his sweet little snore. By the time I got to the Best Western and got to my room, it was about 10:45 PM so that wasn't too bad.  Anyway, it's nice to have some time to relax and sleep in tomorrow. 

February 7, Friday

I had a great day today with Charlie, Nathaniel, Audrey, and Emily! Emily came to the hotel to pick me up at about 10:15 AM. It was good to see her. The only bummer about this morning is that I didn't have any hot water so my shower was cold and miserable. As we left, I told the front desk about it and they fixed it by the end of the day. Hopefully, it will be hot in the morning. Anyway, we went to campus to pick up Nathaniel at the Wilk and then we went to their house. Charlie was eating when we got there but they let me hold him and he fell asleep and it was wonderful. 

We talked about what we wanted to do for lunch and decided to go to Texas Roadhouse. So, Audrey fed him one more time and then we left. We had a delicious lunch and had fun talking. Charlie slept the whole time and was an angel. An older couple walked by and admired him and said how adorable he was. The man said he was guilty of excessive cuteness. 

Nathaniel and Audrey needed to run a quick errand to Walmart so they did that while Emily and I went to Sweet Tooth Fairy and then went to her apartment to drop off her Texas Roadhouse leftovers. Then we met Nathaniel and Audrey at their house and hung out for a few hours. I got to hold Charlie. I changed his diaper a couple of times for them today. Emily and Audrey started watching Crazy Rich Asians so we watched that for a little bit. A little after 6 PM, Nathaniel was asking what we should do for dinner and we decided to get tacos at Don Joaquin's and I did a DoorDash order for it but that was a failure. The order was completely wrong so we had to go back over there to get them to fix it. Emily really wanted Canes so we got everybody's Canes orders and she dropped me off at Don Joaquin's so I could have them fix the order and then she got in the Canes line. They felt bad and gave us a piece of Tres Leche cake as an apology. Then I met Emily in the Cane's line and we got the food and headed back over. I held Charlie so they could eat and then Audrey put him to bed. 

Emily took me to my hotel and we played Soundtrack Trivia together and Emily won. Nathaniel had let us borrow it. Then we said good night and she went back to her apartment. 

February 8, Saturday

I had a wonderful day! Emily came to my hotel at about 10:30 AM. We were waiting to hear when Nathaniel wanted us to pick him up so we played another game of Soundtrack Trivia and this time I won. Then we went over to pick up Nathaniel to go to bowling and lunch. Audrey had already left with Charlie to visit her friend. We went to the Wilkinson Center and played two games. Emily won the first one and Nathaniel won the second and Nathaniel won overall. 

We had a fun time and then we went to the BYU Bookstore so I could get some cinnamon bears and then we got a couple treats and Nathaniel got a drink and we paid and left and went back to the car. We decided to go to lunch at Koko Lunchbox which was Korean food. I got the pork cutlet and Nathaniel and Emily both got a big plate of food. Nathaniel's was called a stone bowl and Emily got teriyaki chicken. 

By the time we were finishing up, Audrey was already home so we went over there. We played a round of Soundtrack Trivia while Charlie napped and Audrey won. Then she fed him again and we went to dinner at about 6:30 PM. We went to Chuck a Rama. 

I told everybody how Jim used to always want to go there and he'd always say: you can get your soup; you can get your salad. I texted Michael that that's where we went and he was jealous. 

After dinner, we went back to their apartment. Audrey fed Charlie while Nathaniel worked on homework and Emily and I sat on the couch and talked and played on our phones. Then we played another one of Nathaniel's movie games. It's like a six degrees of separation kind of thing where you have to try to connect to actors by what movies they're in with other people. Nathaniel won that game. By then, it was getting close to 10 PM so I had to say my goodbyes. It sucked saying goodbye but we had to and then Emily drove me to the hotel. 

February 9, Sunday

It's been a great day! I got up at 8 AM and got ready and packed. Emily drove me to the airport and we said our goodbyes. Michael picked me up and took me home. It was a wonderful visit!
