I'm
so grateful I got to go to the Benson Boone concert with Jonny! Jonny and I left at about 5:30 PM. I had Michael take our picture and we got on the
road.
It took us about an hour to get to Texas
Roadhouse. There were many restaurants near the concert, and this is the one Jonny wanted. I love it, too.
By the time we got to the parking lot at Desert
Diamond Arena, it was about 7:30 PM, so that worked out perfectly. It's really cool
to the north of that arena. They have a lot of shops and restaurants and it
kind of looks like something you would see in Las Vegas. That's what Jonny said
and I agree with him.
We went in and the entrance to our section 102
had a big long line coming out of it. It turns out that's where the general
admission people were going in also. I asked one of the security guys if we
could just go in section 103 and walk over and he said you could try that and
it worked great. Unfortunately, we got a little confused and accidentally sat
in section 101. We probably should've just gone in between section 103 and 102
because that's where our seats were but anyway, we were really impressed with the
seats and how close we were. Then these two ladies who were dressed up like
Benson Boone with mustaches and everything came and said that we were in their
seats. I showed them my ticket and they said you're in section 102 and this is
101 and they pointed to section 102 which was even closer to the stage. So, I
apologized and got out of there and walked over to our correct seats and we
were shocked because our actual seats were even better! We were so close to the
stage and we were looking right at where Benson Boone was probably going to
stand for most of the concert and he did. That was awesome! Our seats were in
section 102, row D, 15 and 16.
The opening act was Brooke Combe and she was great.
Waiting for Benson Boone!
Once the opening act was done, we waited there for quite a
while before Benson Boone came out. The show was absolutely amazing! He is such
a fantastic performer. He did so many cool things that I don't know where to
start, but I took a lot of videos and pictures.
At one point, he reappeared on stage by standing
on a giant chandelier that hung from the ceiling, then it followed a track halfway
around the arena and came almost right above us. It was so cool!
He did a lot of flips and he played the piano a
lot and he played all of the favorites.
He said his goodbyes to everybody and left and a
lot of people left the arena, but the rest of us cheered and he came back out
and did one more song, Cry.
It ended a few minutes after 11 PM. By the time
we got to the car and got out of the traffic and drove all the way home, it was
12:30 AM. It was a wonderful night and I'm so glad I was able to go with Jonny!
I'm
so glad Jonny got his drivers license today! I picked Jonny up at the school and
take him to his driving test. He drove from the seminary parking lot
to the MVD. We went in and there was no wait. They told him he needed to drive
the car around so I went to the car with him made sure he had everything in
order. I had already warned him that he would need to do that. I made sure he had the insurance and registration
information ready to show the driving tester. He looked nervous so I
said, "Would you like to have a prayer?" and he didn't say no so I had a prayer
with him. I sat in a little waiting area and I was able to see
him when he pulled up. The lady giving him the test checked all around the car
to make sure everything was working properly and then she got in the car and
they left. I could tell by the look on his face when he walked in that he
passed. I was still waiting for a thumbs up and he finally gave me one with a
huge smile. We waited a few minutes and the guy gave him his printout of his
license and that was it. We went outside
to take a picture and then he said, "I wonder what I got on the test," so we
walked back in and asked. The lady who tested him was still there. The one guy
said, "Oh sorry, we can't give out the test evaluation forms," but his tester said
you didn't get any points off, meaning he got 100%. That was amazing! He was so
happy about that.
Jonny driving by himself for the first time. He went to the gym.
We are so grateful that Papa lives close enough for he and Emily to have fun outings together. Today they went to the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
We had fun at FMSC with the BYU Alumni! Michael and Jonny wanted to be on the warehouse crew, so I decided to try being a labeler. It was a wonderful night and we were grateful to be able to serve!
