What a Great Weekend!

Emily and I had a great time staying at the Phoenician resort on Friday night!  I had a reward night to use up, and Michael offered to work on cleaning the garage while Emily and I had a girls' night.  Well, I couldn't say no to that!  He said he wanted to get the garage done this summer, and I know he probably preferred to do it when I wasn't home to offer my opinion, lol.  I told him I trusted him to take care of it, and he sure did!  He rented a storage unit, moved the boxes out, set some junk on the curb, and swept and cleaned the whole garage.  Now we can organize the boxes a little at a time, without being overwhelmed by the mountain of boxes in our garage.

Now, on to our fun adventure in Scottsdale:
First we went to lunch at PF Chang's

Then we walked across the street to Sprinkles cupcake shop

Then on to the Phoencian.  It was beautiful!

We had fun listening to the live music in the lobby and exploring the hotel.  Look at this amazing chandelier!

On Saturday morning, we played tennis

After we checked out of the hotel, we went to Scottsdale Fashion Square mall and did some shopping.  Then we stopped at Unbaked, which is a cookie dough shop in Scottsdale.

...to this!  What an amazing surprise to come home to!

Andrew was a big help to Michael.  You can tell he got a little dirty. :-)

Tennis

I've been playing in a local tennis league this summer.  So far I've had four matches, with one loss and three wins.  Michael came to my match tonight and took a few pictures.  It's so much fun!  After the first match, my muscles hurt so bad!  I'm doing much better now.  After the matches I'm still exhausted, but I feel like I'm getting into shape!

Summer Band Camp

Daniel and Jonathan both participated in Summer Band Camp in June.  They went for three weeks, Monday through Thursday.  Daniel has already been playing the trombone for a year, so he was in the more advanced Continuing Band.  Jonathan is going to play the clarinet this year in 5th grade, so he went to he Beginning Jump Start Band.  They both did a great job at their final concert this morning.  Jonathan is doing so well already, and he'll be ahead of the game when school starts.

Scout Camp

Daniel had a great time at Scout Camp this week!  He left on Wednesday morning and came back on Saturday.  Michael went up on Friday to help and then drove Daniel home on Saturday.  The only bummer was that Daniel got sick early Saturday morning, but he was doing a lot better by the time he got home.

EFY Flagstaff

Emily and Andrew went to Especially For Youth (EFY) in Flagstaff this week and they had a great time!  They loved meeting new people, and some of their new friends live near us.  They were sad to say "goodbye," but also glad to be home.

First Week of Summer

Our summer is off to a great start!  It's already busy, but we're having fun. 

On Wednesday night, we went to the Hale Theatre to see Newsies! 

On Saturday morning, Andrew went on a hike with his Scout troop.

On Saturday afternoon, we went to pick peaches at Schnepf Farms and stopped by their bakery for some peachy cinnamon rolls, cookies, and lemon bars.  Yum!!
